About the Cybersecurity Expert Role at North Star Staffing

North Star Staffing is actively seeking experienced Cybersecurity Experts for a critical, high-impact AI security initiative. This fully remote engagement focuses on reviewing technical content to identify potential security concerns, uncovering vulnerabilities, and applying advanced pattern recognition within a cutting-edge AI research environment. This is presented as a short-term pilot sprint, with strong potential for extension based on performance and ongoing project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess technical content for cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities.
• Identify web security issues, attack patterns, and offensive security vectors.
• Craft and solve real-world security challenges.
• Apply penetration testing and adversarial thinking methodologies.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a team of domain experts.
• Utilize Python or other data tools to analyze structured datasets where required.

Required Qualifications

• OSCP certification (required).
• 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• Strong knowledge of web security, application security, and common attack patterns.
• Experience in offensive security, CTFs, red teaming, or penetration testing.
• Proficiency in Python and/or data analysis tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong analytical and pattern recognition skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent English proficiency.
• Currently based in and authorized to work in the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Ability to pass an enhanced background check.

Contract Details

• Independent contractor engagement.
• Fully remote with flexible scheduling.
• Paid onboarding (up to 1 hour if selected).
• Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.
• Short-term pilot sprint with potential extension.
• No access to confidential employer information required.
