North Star Staffing is seeking a Bengali Audio Generalist Evaluator for one of their clients to contribute to a high-impact AI research initiative focused on multilingual audio and language model evaluation. This remote, short-term engagement is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills and high written-language precision.

Role Overview

As a Bengali Language Expert, you will play a crucial role in transcribing, evaluating, and benchmarking Bengali audio content. Your work will help define quality standards and significantly improve AI-generated outputs, requiring close attention to linguistic nuance, formatting precision, and structured analytical reasoning.

Key Responsibilities

• Transcription & Optimization: Listen to and transcribe Bengali audio and video content, producing high-quality written outputs in Bengali (with English support when required). Ensure strict adherence to formatting and stylistic constraints, capturing tone, intent, and relevant regional language variations.
• Evaluation Standards & Rubrics: Develop and document evaluation criteria for high-quality Bengali outputs, creating grading rubrics in both Bengali and English. Identify linguistic edge cases, ambiguities, and dialectal nuances to ensure consistency across reviewers and model evaluations.
• Model Testing & Grading: Run structured prompts through language models, evaluating outputs for accuracy, completeness, fluency, and instruction alignment. Provide structured written feedback to improve model performance.
• Quality Assurance & Benchmarking: Participate in QA and review cycles, maintaining dataset quality before integration into benchmarking systems. Collaborate with project leads to clarify guidelines and improve task design.

Required Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Bengali (spoken and written).
• Professional fluency in English.
• Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze general consumer audio content.
• Availability for 10–20 hours per week.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, United Kingdom, or Singapore.

Preferred Qualifications

• Academic background in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, or technical disciplines.
• Prior experience in transcription, annotation, localization, evaluation, or research workflows.
• Familiarity with Bengali dialects and regional speech patterns.
• Interest in AI systems and language model research.
