Job Details

Data Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain efficient and scalable data models as per business needs.
  • Develop optimal data pipelines from multiple sources including SQL and BigData on Azure/AWS.
  • Process large, complex data sets for both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyze and improve existing data models, pipelines, infrastructure, and processes.
  • Build analytics tools that provide actionable insights for customer acquisition and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and enhance data quality and governance policies.
  • Collaborate with executive, product, data and design teams for data-related technical issues.
  • Create data tools for the analytics and data science teams to optimize product innovations.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to improve functionality in our data systems.

Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years experience with distributed data technologies (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, Kafka, Flink).
  • Strong software engineering in Java, Scala, Python or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in creating real-time and batch data ingestion pipelines.
  • Experience with stream-processing applications using Apache Flink or Kafka Streams.
  • Cloud computing expertise with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases such as Postgres and Cassandra.
  • Knowledge of ELK stack and working in Linux environment.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience building distributed, high-volume data services.
  • Familiarity with AWS big data stack: EMR, S3, EC2, Athena, Kinesis, Lambda, Quicksight.
  • Knowledge of data science tools integrated with data lakes.
  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.

Qualification: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent technical training and work experience.
