Job Description

Join the Optical Systems Group (OSG) at Nokia as a Digital Optical Integration Intern. This is a 4 to 8 month internship starting in January 2026 where you will work onsite in a dynamic environment.

How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to integrate DSP and optical technologies for innovative 800G coherent pluggable modules. You will develop and automate calibration setups and algorithms, build lab setups for performance characterization, work hands-on with prototypes of photonic integrated circuits (PICs), analog ASICs, and control systems, and participate in technical discussions influencing both short- and long-term technology strategies.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Fundamental understanding of optical communication systems and photonic integrated components
  • Knowledge in signal analysis and processing
  • Hands-on experience with optical hardware and measurement equipment
  • Programming experience in MATLAB and Python
  • Experience with system-level optical and electrical testing
