The Opportunity: Content Manager at NMI
NMI is seeking a Content Manager to spearhead the development and execution of the company’s content strategy. This role is crucial as NMI continues to solidify its leadership in embedded payments and fintech. You will own content across the full spectrum, from strategic thought leadership to practical, product-led content, defining how NMI engages its core audiences, including ISOs, banks, payments professionals, ISVs, and developers. Success will be measured by audience engagement, message clarity, and contribution to broader go-to-market goals.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer and strategic thinker, comfortable managing an editorial calendar, collaborating cross-functionally, working with agencies and subject matter experts, and experimenting with new content formats and channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop NMI’s content strategy, aligning with business goals and go-to-market priorities.
- Define editorial priorities, build and manage the editorial calendar for key themes, campaigns, and marketing programs.
- Lead the creation of high-quality content: website copy, blogs, thought leadership, whitepapers, ebooks, case studies.
- Set communication standards for complex payments and fintech topics, ensuring clarity and consistency across diverse audiences.
- Establish NMI’s presence on external platforms like Substack, Reddit, GitHub discussions, and other relevant industry forums.
- Partner with product, engineering, and SMEs to produce credible, accurate content, including technical blogs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external agencies, influencing content direction and ensuring alignment.
- Act as senior editorial authority, setting tone, writing, reviewing, and ensuring brand consistency.
- Measure content performance and engagement, conduct audits, and use insights to refine strategy and distribution.
What NMI Hopes You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in a content or editorial role in payments, fintech, SaaS, or similar complex technology environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of payments, embedded payments, and NMI’s target audiences (ISOs, payments professionals, ISVs, banks, fintech partners, developers).
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, adaptable to different audiences and channels.
- Working knowledge of SEO best practices, keyword strategy, and website analytics for data-informed content decisions.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines.
- Confidence working with senior stakeholders, including product leaders and executives, to shape narratives.
- Comfortable creating content beyond owned channels, with interest in platform-native and community-driven distribution.
- Awareness of emerging content tools, techniques, and best practices.
- A strategic mindset, proactive, collaborative approach, and ownership from idea to execution.
- High standards for quality, accuracy, consistency, and the confidence to enforce them.
