About the Role: KYB Operations Analyst/Senior Analyst
As a KYB Operations Analyst/Senior Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance and mitigating risk by meticulously verifying customer identities and business entities. This involves conducting thorough due diligence, analyzing data for accuracy, identifying potential risks, and collaborating with internal teams to refine KYB strategies. Your core objective is to maintain regulatory compliance, safeguard against financial crimes, and actively support Nium's business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify business registration documents, ownership structures, Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) details, and relevant licenses.
- Conduct KYB and enhanced due diligence checks based on risk profiles, ensuring accurate customer assessments and appropriate risk ratings.
- Timely resolve all name-screening alerts during the onboarding process.
- Assist in improving and streamlining end-to-end compliance operational processes through automation and technology, leveraging machine learning for scalability.
- Ensure all Client Due Diligence requests, including profile reviews, risk rating, name screening, and document verification, are resolved within agreed timeframes.
- Escalate any issues or bottlenecks that arise in a timely manner.
- Perform periodic, trigger, and ad hoc AML reviews on client profiles, identifying and escalating adverse news hits and increased risk factors according to company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct country-specific risk assessments, highlighting control gaps, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely remediation.
- Lead the rollout and ongoing management of the Compliance Training Framework.
- Participate in Compliance or business-driven projects, including regulatory developments and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct detailed onboarding and due-diligence reviews for financial institutions (FIs) such, as banks, money service businesses, EMI/PSPs, brokerages, and payment facilitators.
- Assess FI regulatory status, license scope, shareholding structure, risk exposure, and operational jurisdictions.
- Review AML policies, sanctions controls, governance frameworks, and risk-mitigation measures implemented by FIs.
Requirements
- 6-8 years of experience in compliance roles within regulated companies, with robust knowledge of KYB/KYC, AML/CFT, and Sanctions.
- Strong understanding of the Payments/Fintech industry, preferably with direct experience.
- ACAMS/ICA certified (preferred).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to implement solutions.
- Demonstrate clear accountability and a positive demeanor.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies, understand the broader picture, challenge the status quo, and define scalable and sustainable processes.
- Capable of prioritizing quickly and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A team player with collaborative qualities; experience or willingness to build, lead, and motivate a team.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the global Payments industry and regulatory landscape.
- Fluent in English.
- Flexibility to work outside normal office hours and in rotational shifts to support global operational requirements.
