About the Role
NinjaOne is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Engineer with a keen eye for detail to ensure the quality of our SaaS software products. You will leverage your strong expertise in networking and system administration to support software quality testing for our growing automated endpoint management platform. Working within a diverse squad of software development engineers, you will validate new product features by designing and implementing test cases. Your knowledge of the automation endpoint management platform industry, operating systems, and deep QA testing experience will be crucial as you delve into the systems level of the software stack. Collaborate with top-tier engineers and leadership to tackle new and exciting software challenges.
We are expanding our software development teams and adding QA Engineers to several product teams. We value your unique skills and experiences and aim to place you on teams and products where you can make the greatest impact at NinjaOne.
Location: We offer flexibility for remote work within the USA in CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA. We also have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, for those who prefer a hybrid option.
Our technology stack includes Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres, supporting millions of user endpoints and running as a scalable cloud service in AWS. Experience with large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design, and client-server architecture is beneficial.
What You’ll Be Doing
- IT Operations Expertise: Become an in-house expert on our IT software solutions, understanding user requirements, scrutinizing product usability, and providing feedback to shape the future of MSPs and IT teams.
- Quality Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct comprehensive software testing to guarantee impeccable feature releases. Develop and maintain accurate test plans and ensure compliance across all platforms.
- Documentation: Create detailed reports on software application quality and functionality, clearly documenting any defects or issues for development teams.
- Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to testing methodologies, tools, and processes to refine our QA practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and leaders throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure quality standards are met.

About You
- A Bachelor's degree in technology is advantageous but not mandatory.
- 5+ years of recent experience in Technical IT Support, Product Support, or Systems Engineering.
- 2+ years of scripting experience in languages like PowerShell, Bash, Batch, or Python.
- Experience with at least two of the following operating systems: Windows, Mac, or Linux, including an understanding of system settings, the Windows Registry, and other OS foundational aspects.
- Experience with computer networks and network equipment setup/management, with an understanding of network hardware.
- Experience with databases including PostgreSQL, SQL, and MySQL.
- Experience setting up and configuring Virtual Machines (VM), particularly ESXi and Hyper-V.
- Experience with virtualization platforms like VMWare Fusion, VirtualBox, or Parallels.
- Proficiency in using command-line and PowerShell tools for operating system administration.
- Ability to collect and analyze information from log files.
- Experience with API platforms, such as Postman.
- Familiarity with remote-control tools including TeamViewer, Splashtop, AnyDesk, or ConnectWise.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, especially SNMP, TCP, UDP, ICMP, DNS.
- Experience with Jira and Jira X-Ray extension is a plus.
- Excellent ability to engage and collaborate with diverse teams, articulating feedback clearly into actionable insights.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure no bugs or inconsistencies are missed.
- Ability to think on your feet and possess analytical prowess for identifying, documenting, resolving, or escalating issues.

NinjaOne cannot hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago due to operational policies. We will consider qualified candidates residing outside Chicago or willing to self-relocate.
Starting pay is based on factors like location, market demands, experience, and knowledge. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and PTO.
For roles based in California, Colorado, Maryland, New Jersey, or Washington, the base salary hiring range is $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
For roles based in New York, the base salary hiring range is $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
