About Vulnerability Researcher Intern - 2026 at Nightwing

Role Overview

At Nightwing, you will work as a Vulnerability Researcher Intern - 2026 in a collaborative team environment. You will analyze systems to understand how they work and fail. Engage in both developing security techniques and defeating advanced ones. Work in small teams with close mentor coordination, balancing code writing with system analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Increase knowledge about target systems.
  • Document research results regularly.
  • Evaluate research outcomes and modify tools.
  • Productize successful research for customers.

Requirements

  • GPA of 3.0+ on a 4.0 scale.
  • Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s STEM program.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Experience with C or C++.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of OS internals.
  • Experience with assembly language (x86, x64, ARM, etc.).
  • Knowledge of network protocols and exploit mitigations.
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering tools (IDA Pro, Ghidra, etc.) and debuggers (gdb, WinDbg).
  • Experience building tools for vulnerability research.
