Job Description

The Data Scientist at NielsenIQ in Gurugram (Hybrid) is responsible for monitoring and implementing the right statistical methodology in data processes, covering universe, sample, and extrapolation setups. The role supports the Panel Quality Lead by ensuring the use of globally approved methods to maintain statistical quality and accurately represent the regional market.

Key Activities

  • Estimate POS Universe by distribution channel and present study results.
  • Manage and update the address database for retail shops.
  • Calculate target sample and recruitment targets based on reporting requirements.
  • Analyze corrections post data processing and suggest changes to extrapolation models.
  • Develop and adapt data modelling for non-cooperating companies.
  • Handle market data QC queries for challenging markets.
  • Work with big datasets using new statistical tools and programs.

Functional Responsibilities

This role includes target setting for People@GfK, internal project management, and analysis of market situations to propose future panel developments. It requires staying updated with Standardized Global Processes and efficient use of internal data processing software.

Skills Required

  • Advanced knowledge in MS Office, MS Excel, and MS Access.
  • Expertise in Statistics, Sampling methodology, and Data Analysis.
  • Proficiency in project management and excellent English language skills.
  • Preferred skills in statistical software such as Python, Knime, and R.
  • Experience in database management.
