Organisational Development, Leadership and Learning Advisor at NHS Scotland

NHS 24 is seeking an experienced Organisational Development, Leadership and Learning Advisor to join its ODLL Team within the Workforce Directorate. This pivotal role involves leading the entire lifecycle of learning solutions, from scope and build to planning, delivery, and evaluation, all in support of the organisation's strategic objectives and operational learning needs.

Are you proficient in facilitating engaging sessions for diverse audiences, both in-person and online? Do you possess proven experience in leadership development delivery? Crucially, do you have strong digital skills, including practical experience with Microsoft Power Automate, Planner, OneNote, and MS Forms?

As NHS Scotland's dedicated provider of national tele-health and tele-care services, NHS 24 delivers health advice and information 24/7, 365 days a year, to the people of Scotland via telephone and online platforms. Our patient-focused service offers triage, advice, guidance, referral, and information on health and healthcare services.

With six regional centres located in Aberdeen, Dundee, South Queensferry, Hillington, Cardonald, and Clydebank, NHS 24 embraces hybrid working. This position allows for a base within any NHS 24 regional centre, though the successful candidate must be within commuting distance for required attendance and willing to travel to other centres for meetings, training, and activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the scope, design, build, planning, delivery, evaluation, review, and maintenance of a comprehensive range of organisational development, leadership, and learning solutions. This includes management and leadership development; mentoring; workshops to support organisational culture.
  • Conduct thorough Training Needs Analysis, collaborating with key stakeholders to assess requirements for new and existing programmes and solutions.
  • Deliver impactful development programmes and initiatives using highly engaging, participative, and facilitative presentation styles, including formal settings with large groups, both in-person and remotely.
  • Ensure the timely and budget-compliant delivery of programmes, solutions, and initiatives through robust administration, coordination, and analytical skills.
  • Provide expert organisational development, leadership, and learning advice and guidance to various business areas and staff, continuously updating professional knowledge on industry trends and future opportunities.

Successful Applicant Will

  • Demonstrate specialist skills and extensive experience in assessing requirements, contracting, designing, facilitating, and evaluating diverse learning programmes and team events.
  • Hold a Degree or possess equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience.
  • Have proven knowledge and experience in designing and delivering high-impact OD, Leadership & Learning programmes and interventions, including tailored and personalised offerings.
  • Be highly proficient in IT equipment and software applications relevant to e-learning design.
  • Possess developed experience working successfully in a large, complex training environment.
  • Exhibit the ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and adhere to set timescales.
  • Be agile, self-motivated, and committed to both personal and others' learning and development.
  • Experience in delivering equality, diversity, and inclusion training, or immersive/AI-integrated/nano learning is advantageous.

NHS 24 offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a permanent contract on Band 5 with a salary range of £33,247 - £41,214 Per Annum (pro rata if applicable). Salary scale placement depends on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
