NFPA Global Solutions (NGS) was founded in 2024 to improve fire, life, and electrical safety worldwide. By offering compliance solutions, digital products, and advisory services, NGS helps mitigate risks, enhance safety, and boost operational efficiency for businesses and governments of all shapes and sizes. NGS is a separate fully owned NFPA corporation and will introduce new offerings via acquisitions and the launch of new businesses.
Role Overview
The Fire Testing & Certification Leader is responsible for driving the growth of this business segment via new organic investments, acquisitions, and partnerships. This is an entrepreneurial role with an extreme focus on launching new services for NGS. The position requires the ability to very quickly develop and execute a pragmatic growth plan to serve the fire testing and certification segment, leveraging outstanding relationships with leading potential clients, deep expertise in US fire test standards, strong leadership capability, and the ability to engage confidently with manufacturers, code officials, and industry stakeholders. Success in this role means having service offerings launched and adopted by customers within the first few months while driving organic investments, acquisitions, and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a pragmatic growth plan to serve the fire testing and certification segment.
- Lead launch planning, customer acquisition strategies, partnerships, and early sales initiatives.
- Lead the pursuit of organic investments, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships that accelerate the growth of the fire testing and certification segment.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated success launching and scaling new businesses with rapid, measurable impact.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial mindset, including opportunity identification, experimentation, and rapid iteration.
- Experience with go-to-market strategy, early customer acquisition, and partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Materials Science, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive experience in fire testing, fire engineering, or certification of fire protection products and systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent professional credentials.
- Participation in US standards committees or code development processes.
Note: we are open to full time or consultant arrangement.
