This pivotal role primarily focuses on icon system design, asset production, and ensuring visual consistency across various product surfaces. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in communication design, exceptional attention to detail, and a proven track record in building and scaling robust icon systems for global digital products. You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional partners to evolve and maintain a cohesive visual language, strengthening brand expression across both web and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Create scalable icon libraries across multiple sizes, weights, and themes. Develop pixel-perfect, grid-aligned icons with strong optical balance, ensuring clarity and usability at small sizes and across diverse device contexts.
  • Visual Systems & Documentation: Extend and refine icon standards and system guidelines. Document usage rules, specifications, and provide clear do/don't guidance. Maintain consistent naming conventions, streamline export workflows, and manage asset versioning processes. Contribute significantly to system consistency across all product surfaces.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with art directors, product designers, producers, and engineers. Translate complex product requirements into intuitive and emotionally engaging visual assets. Actively participate in design critiques and constructively incorporate feedback. Ensure strong brand alignment and a seamless user experience across all deliverables.
  • Creative Development: Explore universally recognized visual metaphors to clarify complex concepts. Present clear and compelling creative rationale behind all design decisions. Maintain exceptionally high craftsmanship standards and establish strong visual hierarchy.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience in visual design, graphic design, or production design.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing icon systems at scale.
  • Experience working across web, desktop, iOS, and Android platforms.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma (including libraries, components, variables/styles, and asset export workflows).
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Strong understanding of vector construction, grid systems, optical alignment, and accessibility standards.
  • Experience managing large-scale icon libraries and production workflows.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.
  • Understanding of design-to-development handoff and QA processes.
