About the STEM Professionals Role at Nexus Consulting

Nexus Consulting is seeking highly skilled STEM Professionals to participate in a series of paid research interviews. This remote, hourly contract opportunity supports advanced market and technology research initiatives, focusing on understanding how technical professionals make financial, career, and technology-related decisions. This is a flexible, short-term engagement designed for experienced professionals to contribute valuable insights through confidential, one-on-one research conversations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in scheduled 30–60 minute research interviews.
  • Share insights on professional background, decision-making, and technology usage.
  • Discuss financial behavior, investment tools, and workflow preferences.
  • Provide honest and detailed feedback to support research and analysis.
  • Follow all confidentiality and participation guidelines.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Background in a technical or analytical field, including:
  • Software engineering, data science, or product and design.
  • Engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, aerospace, etc.).
  • Finance or quantitative roles (investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, trading, FP&A).
  • Scientific or research-based professions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or STEM-related field preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate professional insights.
  • Currently residing in one of the following U.S. metropolitan areas: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC.
  • Legally able to work as an independent contractor in your jurisdiction (US, UK, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Dubai, or Australia).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active investment or brokerage accounts with platforms such as Vanguard, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Robinhood, E*Trade, Interactive Brokers, SoFi, Betterment, TD Ameritrade, or Wealthfront.

Work Details

  • Fully remote engagement.
  • Flexible scheduling.
  • One-time or repeat sessions depending on project needs.
  • Each session lasts approximately 30–60 minutes.

Contract & Payment Terms

  • Independent contractor engagement.
  • Paid weekly via Stripe or Wise.
  • No sales, no marketing, and no follow-up communication after participation.
  • No access to confidential or proprietary employer data is required.
