Software Engineering Expert at Nexus Consulting
Nexus Consulting is seeking highly skilled Software Engineering Experts for a series of paid research interviews. This flexible, remote opportunity allows experienced professionals to contribute valuable insights into financial, career, and technology-related decisions, supporting advanced market and technology research initiatives.
This engagement is structured as an hourly contract, ideal for independent contractors based in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Dubai, or Australia, who are legally authorized to work in their respective jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in scheduled 30–60 minute confidential research interviews.
- Share detailed insights on professional background, decision-making processes, and technology usage.
- Discuss financial behavior, experience with investment tools, and workflow preferences.
- Provide honest and detailed feedback to effectively support ongoing research and analysis.
- Adhere strictly to all confidentiality and participation guidelines established for the project.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Candidates should possess a strong background in a technical or analytical field, including but not limited to:
- Software engineering, data science, or product and design.
- Engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, chemical, aerospace, etc.).
- Finance or quantitative roles (investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, trading, FP&A).
- Scientific or research-based professions.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or STEM-related field is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex professional insights clearly are essential. Applicants must currently reside in one of the following U.S. metropolitan areas: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC.
Preferred: Active investment or brokerage accounts with platforms such as Vanguard, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Robinhood, E*Trade, Interactive Brokers, SoFi, Betterment, TD Ameritrade, or Wealthfront.
Work Details
- This is a fully remote engagement, offering flexible scheduling.
- Opportunities include one-time or repeat sessions, depending on project needs.
- Each research session typically lasts approximately 30–60 minutes.
Contract & Payment Terms
- Engagement is on an independent contractor basis.
- Payments are processed weekly via Stripe or Wise.
- This role involves no sales, no marketing, and requires no follow-up communication after participation.
- No access to confidential or proprietary employer data is required.
