Engagement: Hourly contract (independent contractor)
Rate: USD 82-287/hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to contribute clinical expertise to innovative AI training initiatives in healthcare and rehabilitation. In this fully remote role, you will apply real-world therapeutic knowledge to help train and refine AI systems, ensuring they accurately reflect best practices in occupational therapy and promote improved patient outcomes. This position bridges clinical care and emerging technology, offering the opportunity to influence how AI supports rehabilitation planning, assistive technology, and patient-centered interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, develop, and curate occupational therapy scenarios and documentation for AI training purposes
- Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to translate clinical processes into structured AI learning models
- Analyze patient case studies to define therapy goals, interventions, and expected functional outcomes
- Provide expert feedback on AI-generated rehabilitation plans and therapeutic recommendations
- Contribute to the validation and improvement of AI-driven occupational therapy tools and digital health solutions
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation aligned with clinical standards and regulatory requirements
- Identify gaps in AI understanding of occupational therapy workflows and recommend targeted improvements
- Support usability and user experience improvements for digital rehabilitation platforms
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Active licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR or equivalent)
- Clinical experience in settings such as acute care, pediatrics, outpatient rehab, home health, mental health, or industrial rehabilitation
- Strong expertise in rehabilitation program planning and functional assessment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with precise clinical documentation abilities
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or guiding other clinicians or support staff
- Ability to interpret clinical data and translate complex cases into structured, educational content
- Comfort working in remote, collaborative, technology-driven environments
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience contributing to AI training, health technology, or digital health innovation initiatives
- Familiarity with assistive technology, adaptive equipment, or accessibility-focused design
- Knowledge of UX principles in healthcare applications
- Specialty certifications (e.g., CHT, ATP, Early Intervention)
- Experience participating in interdisciplinary innovation or product development teams
