Role Overview: FrontEnd Software Engineer

Nexus Consulting is seeking experienced FrontEnd Software Engineers to join their team and support high-impact research collaborations with leading AI labs. In this pivotal remote role, you will be instrumental in building high-quality training datasets that significantly enhance AI model performance, specifically for real-world client-side web development tasks. This presents a unique opportunity to leverage your front-end engineering expertise to directly influence and shape the next generation of intelligent systems.

About the Project

You will focus on creating high-quality “vibe coding” datasets, meticulously designed to train AI models on essential client-side web development skills. This includes critical areas such as state management, interactivity, UI correctness, and overall robustness. Projects you may contribute to include:

• Interactive web applications
• Browser-based games
• Visualizations and simulations
• Front-end tools and utilities

Key Responsibilities

• Write realistic, self-contained prompts for client-side web applications, games, and simulations.
• Develop precise, binary rubrics, carefully tagged by verification type, to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Ensure all rubric criteria are strictly pass/fail and fully verifiable through screenshot and code inspection.
• Design tasks that rigorously test UI behavior, logic correctness, and edge-case handling to challenge and improve AI models.

Ideal Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in front-end or full-stack development, or equivalent technical content creation specifically in web development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred).
• Strong proficiency in modern web technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or vanilla JavaScript.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise technical specifications and structured evaluation criteria.
• A detail-oriented mindset, with an unwavering focus on verifiability and precision in all tasks.

Project Details

This is an immediate start position with a projected duration of 1–2 months. The commitment is part-time, ranging from 15–25 hours per week, with the flexibility to increase up to 40 hours per week based on project needs and individual availability. The role is fully remote and operates asynchronously, offering significant flexibility.

Compensation & Contract Terms

Compensation is highly competitive at $70–$80 per hour, based on experience, with weekly payments processed via supported payment platforms. This role is classified as an independent contractor position. While the initial project duration is 1–2 months, it may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on performance and evolving project needs. Importantly, this role does not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
