About the Engineering Professional Role at Nexus Consulting
Nexus Consulting is seeking highly skilled Engineering Professionals for paid research interviews. This is an hourly contract opportunity for independent contractors based in various regions including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Dubai, or Australia, who are legally authorized to work as independent contractors in their jurisdiction.
This short-term, flexible opportunity supports advanced market and technology research initiatives. The project aims to understand how technical professionals make critical financial, career, and technology-related decisions through confidential, one-on-one research conversations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in scheduled 30–60 minute research interviews.
- Share valuable insights on professional background, decision-making processes, and technology usage.
- Discuss financial behavior, investment tools, and workflow preferences.
- Provide honest and detailed feedback to contribute to robust research and analysis.
- Strictly adhere to all confidentiality and participation guidelines.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Demonstrated background in a technical or analytical field, which may include: Software engineering, data science, product and design, Mechanical, electrical, chemical, or aerospace engineering, Finance or quantitative roles (e.g., investment banking, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, trading, FP&A), Scientific or research-based professions.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or STEM-related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex professional insights clearly.
- Currently residing in one of the specified U.S. metropolitan areas for client interviews: Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, or Washington, DC.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active investment or brokerage accounts with platforms such as Vanguard, Fidelity, Charles Schwab, Robinhood, E*Trade, Interactive Brokers, SoFi, Betterment, TD Ameritrade, or Wealthfront.
Work Details & Contract Terms
- Fully remote engagement.
- Flexible scheduling to fit your availability.
- Opportunity for one-time or repeat sessions based on project needs.
- Each session typically lasts approximately 30–60 minutes.
- Engagement as an independent contractor, paid weekly via Stripe or Wise.
- This role involves no sales, no marketing, and no follow-up communication after participation.
- No access to confidential or proprietary employer data is required.
