Job Description

Earth Sciences Professor

We are seeking an experienced Atmospheric, Earth, Marine, and Space Sciences Teacher (Postsecondary) to contribute subject matter expertise to advanced AI training initiatives. In this fully remote role, you will leverage your academic and research background to help train and refine AI systems, while supporting high-quality digital learning experiences in the geosciences.

This position offers a unique opportunity to combine postsecondary teaching experience with emerging AI technologies, helping shape the future of science education and intelligent systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver structured academic content in areas such as structural geology, micrometeorology, atmospheric thermodynamics, oceanography, and planetary science.
  • Evaluate and assess AI-generated academic materials, ensuring scientific accuracy and rigor.
  • Review, annotate, and refine datasets and model outputs related to atmospheric, earth, marine, and space sciences.
  • Supervise and design laboratory simulations, field research scenarios, and applied scientific exercises for AI training purposes.
  • Utilize scientific computing and visualization tools to validate data and enhance AI model accuracy.
  • Maintain clear documentation of grading standards, evaluation criteria, and academic workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve AI-driven educational resources and scientific content.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for digital and AI-supported science education.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Marine Science, Space Science, Geosciences, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated postsecondary teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Proficiency with scientific and analytical software such as:
    • Ansys Fluent
    • MATLAB
    • WaveMetrics IGOR Pro
    • Wolfram Mathematica
    • ESRI ArcGIS / ArcInfo
    • Golden Software Voxler
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (Blackboard, Desire2Learn, Sakai CLE, or similar LMS platforms).
  • Familiarity with scientific visualization and communication tools such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and CorelDRAW.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with collaborative tools including Google Docs and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and record-keeping abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience contributing to AI model training, data annotation, or digital curriculum development.
  • Background in remote or hybrid postsecondary instruction.
  • Active research portfolio or publication record in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Experience integrating computational modeling and geospatial tools into instruction.
