About the Role
Nexus Consulting is seeking an experienced Audio Engineer to support next-generation AI-driven audio technologies. This remote contract role focuses on identifying and classifying audio artifacts, producing high-quality annotations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of machine learning systems. It is ideal for detail-oriented, self-directed professionals experienced in audio analysis and restoration.
Key Responsibilities
- Review short audio clips and classify artifacts such as noise, clipping, echo, misalignment, and compression-related issues.
- Produce precise annotations and structured corrective feedback.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of annotation work to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Document edge cases and contribute to shared annotation guidelines.
- Collaborate with training and QA teams to refine annotation standards.
- Provide feedback on annotation tools and workflow improvements.
- Maintain high data quality and documentation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in audio annotation, captioning, transcription, audio editing, or quality assurance.
- Strong proficiency in audio restoration tools such as iZotope RX, Cedar Studio, Adobe Audition, or equivalent software.
- Solid understanding of audio engineering terminology and production defects.
- Experience using browser-based tools and structured workflows.
- Strong written communication skills for clear documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
