As a 3D Slicer Expert, you will be pivotal in managing complete imaging workflows, from initial raw data import through advanced segmentation, 3D reconstruction, quantitative analysis, and final output delivery. Your role involves meticulous documentation of decisions and processes, which is crucial for training advanced AI systems in expert-level clinical and technical judgment.

This is an hourly contract position, allowing you to contribute your specialized expertise remotely to a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle 3D Slicer projects, converting raw imaging data into finalized, high-quality outputs.
• Perform DICOM import, detailed segmentation, structure delineation, and advanced 3D reconstruction.
• Execute precise image registration, conduct quantitative analysis, and efficiently troubleshoot workflow issues.
• Document all workflow steps, clinical rationale, and technical decisions in structured written and verbal formats.
• Collaborate remotely with diverse multidisciplinary teams, including those in radiology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and surgical planning.
• Provide critical domain expertise to help AI systems accurately model expert-level imaging workflows.
• Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure seamless project delivery and maintain high quality standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional expertise in using 3D Slicer within clinical or research environments.
• Strong foundational background in medical imaging, radiology, neuroscience, surgical planning, or related scientific disciplines.
• Deep familiarity with DICOM workflows, various segmentation techniques, image registration, and 3D visualization methods.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate both clinical reasoning and technical execution.
• Proven capability to independently complete end-to-end imaging projects.
• Comfortable and effective working remotely within interdisciplinary team settings.

Preferred Qualifications

• An advanced degree in biomedical engineering, medical physics, neuroscience, or a closely related field.
• Prior contributions to 3D Slicer documentation, training materials, or community initiatives.
• Experience in integrating AI or machine learning methodologies into medical imaging workflows.
