About the Role: Typist, Title Policies & Documents
We’re seeking a detail-driven Typist to prepare, format, and process title commitments, policies, endorsements, and closing documents. You’ll partner closely with title officers, escrow officers, and underwriters to ensure documentation is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. If you’re fast, thorough, and familiar with real estate/legal terminology, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Type, format, and finalize title commitments, policies, endorsements, and closing documents.
- Review legal descriptions, property information, and survey data for accuracy.
- Proofread for spelling, grammar, and formatting consistency.
- Process policy packages and verify all requirements are met for policy/endorsement issuance.
- Perform centralized clerical processing: typing, compliance review, delivery to customers, and transmission to underwriters.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to minimize risk and ensure claim prevention.
- Communicate moderately complex information within the team and coordinate across related teams.
- Manage your workload independently under general supervision; no supervisory responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What You’ll Bring
- 3+ years of related experience in title/real estate/legal documentation.
- Fast, accurate typing (60+ WPM) with high attention to detail.
- Familiarity with title, escrow, and underwriting terminology and workflows.
- Strong proofreading and document formatting skills.
- Ability to follow standards, solve routine problems, and deliver high-quality work on deadlines.
- Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Nice to Have (Preferred, not required)
- Exposure to title production systems and document workflows.
- Experience collaborating with title officers, escrow officers, and underwriters.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $20–$22 per hour (DOE), W‑2. Schedule: M-F Typical business hours. Start Date: ASAP
