Job Description

NEXTON is hiring a Design System Manager (H/F) for a permanent contract in Paris. You will join the Digital Design & Experience Department to embody the design vision for one of our clients in the insurance sector. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the visual, functional, and technical consistency of all interfaces by leading the strategy, governance, and evolution of the Design System. Your role is to create a common language between Product, Design, and Tech teams, delivering consistent, accessible, and high-performing experiences for all users.

Your Role and Missions

  • Define and Evolve the Design System: Design, structure, and maintain the component library, visual guidelines, and interaction best practices. Evolve the Design System based on product needs, user feedback, and technological trends. Ensure consistency, maintainability, and quality of visual and functional elements across all interfaces. Document and disseminate best practices for smooth adoption by all teams.
  • Unite and Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with Product, UX/UI, Tech, and Marketing teams to ensure consistent application of the Design System. Lead workshops, training, and awareness sessions to strengthen team buy-in and ownership. Act as the Product Owner for the Design System, prioritizing evolutions, managing the backlog, and coordinating internal contributions. Serve as the central point of contact for all design consistency-related questions within the Group.
  • Ensure Quality, Performance, and Accessibility: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and updating of reusable components. Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance across all platforms (web, mobile, internal applications). Define and track success metrics: adoption, consistency, team satisfaction, technical debt. Implement quality control and governance processes and tools.
  • Innovate and Inspire: Conduct active monitoring of UX/UI trends, design systems, accessibility, and front-end technologies. Experiment with new tools and methods to enhance the value and sustainability of the Design System. Inspire internal teams by disseminating best practices in DesignOps and collaborative design.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in UX/UI Design, DesignOps, or Design System Management, acquired on complex or multi-brand projects.
  • Strategic vision for design and ability to unite teams around a transversal and structuring project.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and documentation tools such as Storybook, Zeroheight, or Design Tokens.
  • Understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and effective communication with development teams.
  • Strong sensitivity to digital accessibility and interface performance, viewed as essential levers for quality and inclusion.
