Job Summary

Sells general merchandise to customers using professional selling techniques. Works as part of a sales team to provide service that anticipates and exceeds customer expectations. Supports the full operation of the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar including opening and closing, preparing displays, replenishing goods, and cleaning stations and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers to provide sales assistance.
  • Assist in merchandise selection and suggest complementary items.
  • Offer extended product warrantees and explain coverage benefits.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional interaction with customers and coworkers, adhering to NEX dress code uniform standards.
  • Learn and communicate details about merchandise including setup, care, and price points.
  • Ensure areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged.
  • Complete cash register transactions accurately including cash, check, gift certificates, and layaway.
  • Advise customers on upcoming sales events and NEXCARD account benefits.
  • Follow NEX store policies including merchandise returns, price matching, and check cashing procedures.
  • Maintain high awareness to deter theft and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Unpack, stage, and move merchandise; assist with store displays and inventories.
  • Participate in commission and gainsharing incentive programs.
  • Lift up to 25 lbs as required and assist with stocking and customer service duties.
  • Operate and manage the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar functions including opening/closing, product display, equipment operation, product replenishment, and cleaning.
  • Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures and perform food safety tasks.
  • Attend a 4-hour food safety training session initially with annual refreshers.
