Payment Operations Specialist II – Debit Cards

Role Summary

The Payment Operations Specialist II – Debit Cards will manage and support debit card processing for Newtek Bank, N.A. This role is central to card operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day processing, resolution of issues, and regulatory compliance across the debit card lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Debit Card Operations: Monitor daily transactions, settlements, reconciliations; manage issuance, activation, and closures.
• Disputes & Chargebacks: Handle disputes and chargebacks, coordinate evidence collection and track outcomes.
• Operational Controls & Compliance: Ensure adherence to network rules and internal policies; support audits and risk escalation.
• Partner & Network Coordination: Serve as primary contact for card processors, networks, and vendors; assist in incident management.
• Reporting & Process Improvement: Prepare performance reports and suggest process enhancements.
• Additional Support: Assist with payment processing including ATM, ACH, wires, checks, Zelle and more.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in card operations and payment/banking operations, hands-on experience with debit card processing, familiarity with Visa and MoneyPass card networks, and a strong focus on detail, compliance, and risk management.

Skills & Competencies

Strong analytical problem solving, clear communication, ability to manage multiple tasks, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Salary & Schedule

Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000 per year. This role follows a Monday-Friday rotating schedule with shifts in Eastern Time.
