The Role
Newcastle University is looking for a highly motivated Senior Research Associate in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) with strong quantitative skills to lead two prestigious programmes: the Newcastle NIHR Technology Assessment Group and the NICE External Assessment Group.
You will oversee technology appraisals across Medicines, Diagnostics, and MedTech. Responsibilities include critical review of clinical and economic components, network meta-analyses, matching-adjusted indirect comparisons, and real-world evidence evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to HTA research programmes.
- Supervise early-career researchers and manage project timelines.
- Develop funding proposals and analysis plans.
- Conduct advanced evidence synthesis methods.
- Contribute to teaching and course development.
The Person
Candidates must have significant experience in HTA, economic evaluation, and evidence synthesis methods. Excellent time management, communication, and organisational skills are required along with the ability to work independently and in cross-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Additional Information
Applicants should hold a formal postgraduate qualification (PhD preferred) in Health Economics, Epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline. This is a full-time fixed term post until 31st March 2027. Informal enquiries may be made via email to Dr Gill Norman or Dr Gurdeep Sagoo.
