Overview
Newcastle University seeks a highly motivated Research Associate in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Modelling to contribute to prestigious programmes including the NIHR Technology Assessment Group and the NICE External Assessment Group.
The Role
This role involves overseeing and contributing to technology appraisals in Medicines, Diagnostics, and MedTech. You will work across the Health Economics Group and the Evidence Synthesis Group, engaging in systematic reviewing, complex evidence synthesis, decision modelling, and economic evaluations.
- Review company evidence submissions and technology appraisal reports.
- Develop and critique decision models using Excel and statistical packages.
- Conduct network meta-analyses and matching-adjusted indirect comparisons.
- Supervise early-career researchers and contribute to teaching.
- Develop funding proposals and project analysis plans.
The Person
Candidates should have experience in HTA, economic evaluation, and advanced evidence synthesis methods with strong quantitative skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential. A formal postgraduate qualification or PhD in a relevant discipline is required.
