Overview
The New York State Department of Financial Services is committed to building an equitable, transparent, and resilient financial system. As a Data Quality Analyst in the Data Governance Unit within the Research & Innovation Division, you will support data-driven regulation and policy while ensuring business intelligence solutions meet defined needs.
Duties
- Produce business intelligence solutions by querying data repositories.
- Identify patterns and trends in various data sources.
- Assess data structures to produce accurate reports.
- Research new data sources and analytical tools and recommend viable solutions.
- Conduct and coordinate tests to validate business intelligence outputs.
- Draft programming functions for data analyses.
- Create detailed written reports and presentations.
- Potentially supervise junior staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A minimum of seven years of experience in data visualization, statistical models, and data mining tools is required. Alternatives in educational background including associate, bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degrees may substitute for a portion of the required experience.
Additional Information
The starting salary for this position is $86,681 with periodic increases up to $109,650. Positions in the New York City metropolitan area as well as Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland, and Westchester Counties receive an additional $4,000 annual downstate adjustment. Appointment status is permanent.
