Job Description

Pay Range: $80,000 - $98,468 per year

Clinic Nurse Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Breast Oncology Clinic Nurse to provide care to patients at our fast-paced medical oncology clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with care team to monitor patient health, perform telephone nurse triage, provide individualized treatment therapy classes, and educating patients on health maintenance and symptom management. Additionally, the Clinic Nurse will work closely with the medical staff to ensure quality care is provided to all patients.

Clinic Nurse Duties And Responsibilities

  • Care management: Educating patients on various treatment modalities- including, but not limited to chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy
  • Symptom management
  • Self-care
  • Collaborate with medical staff to develop patient care plans and coordinate care
  • Document patient medical histories, treatments, and progress
  • Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition
  • Telephone nurse triage and follow-up phone calls for care team
  • Monitor and respond to patient inquiries through patient portal for various office locations
  • Monitor and renew prescription medications for care team providers
  • Review/confirm/obtain treatment consents for new therapy
  • Assist front office team with managing provider schedule to ensure urgent patients are seen in timely manner and treatment patients are seen for pre-treatment clearance.
  • Assist with monitoring survivorship patients.
  • Perform laboratory tests and review results and care team recommendations

Clinic Nurse Requirements And Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered, New York State Registered Nurse License
  • Current OCN certification
  • 5-10 Years of oncology nursing experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, treatment modalities, imaging, and clinical procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically able to lift up-to 25 pounds.
  • Experience working in a clinic or similar healthcare setting.
  • This position requires travel to various offices within 50 miles of home-site multiple times per week.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and EMR
