Overview
The Associate Product Owner, AI & Data at New York Life Insurance Company is an entry-level role supporting product requirements development, roadmap management, and backlog execution. You will work with experienced product managers and cross-functional teams across data engineering, governance, science, and analytics in a dynamic, regulated financial services environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support product definition, roadmap planning, and agile delivery across AI & Data initiatives
- Manage product backlogs, write user stories, and support sprint planning
- Document business problems, gather user feedback, and create technical specifications
- Maintain JIRA user stories and ensure proper priority of backlog items
- Facilitate communication between AI & Data teams, business partners, and technology stakeholders
- Participate in agile ceremonies, product demos, and reviews
- Track product metrics and create reports/dashboards
- Develop expertise in AI products and data platforms through mentorship
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or related field
- 0–2 years of experience in product management, business analysis, consulting, or technical roles
- Interest in AI, data, and technology with familiarity of generative AI tools
- Understanding of data concepts, agile methodologies, and strong analytical skills
- Proficiency with common productivity tools (Excel, PowerPoint, documentation platforms)
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or academic project experience in AI/ML, data analytics, or product development
- Certifications or coursework in product management, data science, or AI/ML
- Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Python, or data visualization tools
- Experience in gathering requirements or writing user stories
Salary & Benefits
Salary range: $66,500 - $95,500 with eligibility for a discretionary bonus. Additional benefits include comprehensive leave programs, adoption assistance, and student loan repayment programs.
