Job Summary: AV Field Engineer

The AV Field Engineer works closely with the Engineering team to complete installation and commissioning of audiovisual and multimedia systems. You will manage multiple projects, review drawings, provide technical support, train clients, and ensure quality control of systems. This role reports directly to the Field Engineer Manager.

Primary Duties

  • Review project drawings and requirements.
  • Schedule and support remote and onsite project tasks.
  • QC systems installed by subcontractors and in-house.
  • Train clients on AV system usage and provide technical support.
  • Perform cabling, labeling, soldering and other AV system tasks.
  • Fabricate, stage, install, and document AV equipment.
  • Configure, load, test, troubleshoot control systems and DSP files.
  • Maintain inventory control and detailed reporting.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.

Competency & Experience

Candidates must have a CTS certification and at least four years of AV experience. This role requires solid technical skills in installations, troubleshooting, soldering, and multimedia systems like AMX, Extron, Crestron, Poly, Cisco, QSC, and Biamp. A clean driving record is required along with flexibility in work hours and travel (minimum 30% overnight/travel per year).

Physical and Work Environment

Work is performed in New Era Technology offices and at various client sites domestically and internationally. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and handle physical tasks using ladders, scaffolding, and lifts.
