Project Manager (Mining Engineering) - Overview

The Project Manager (Mining Engineering) is responsible for supporting New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. (NESL) by performing plant efficiency studies, managing projects, and developing project scopes and estimates. This role will support all NESL business units including Aggregates, Hot Mix Asphalt Plants (HMA), and Ready-Mix Concrete Plants (RMC).

What Will You Do?

  • Constant evaluation of KPI’s with PPI Department members.
  • Evaluate haul fleets for efficient routes and equipment.
  • Assess plant equipment to optimize production and sales mix.
  • Identify bottlenecks causing downtime or reduced production.
  • Develop proposals to define project scope.
  • Generate General Arrangement CAD drawings.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Submit CEARS and issue purchase orders for project needs.
  • Monitor costs and schedules while managing projects.
  • Maintain communication with plant superintendents and area managers.

Requirements - Who Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with AutoCAD; knowledge of Microsoft Project, AggFlow, or similar software is a plus.
  • Understanding of current mining regulations and MSHA/OHSA requirements.
  • Strong professional relationships and excellent customer service skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license meeting NESL standards.
