About The Role

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supervisor Technical Support Manager within the Facility Maintenance (FM) division. This leadership role is pivotal in overseeing electrical work performed by craft Electricians across the laboratory. The successful candidate will supervise, mentor, and develop both non-exempt and represented personnel, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This position requires close collaboration with stakeholders and customers to coordinate electrical tasks efficiently and effectively, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and quality. The Supervisor will play a key role in executing electrical projects, maintaining emergency response responsibilities, and contributing to the ongoing training programs within the FM subdivision. The role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team dedicated to supporting the laboratory’s mission-critical operations and ensuring electrical safety and compliance across all activities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include current or previous certification as an Electrical Worker, LOTO Supervisor, Asbestos Competent Person, and Asbestos Building Inspector. Candidates with relevant experience in electrical supervision within a nuclear or industrial environment are highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to safety are essential. Knowledge of electrical codes, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance is required. The candidate must be eligible for or hold active qualifications in electrical work, safety, and asbestos management, aligning with the laboratory’s stringent safety standards. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee electrical work performed by craft Electricians, ensuring compliance with safety standards, codes, and project specifications.
• Mentor, develop, and evaluate personnel within the Facility Maintenance subdivision, fostering a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, project managers, and operational teams to plan and execute electrical tasks efficiently and on schedule.
• Maintain active participation in emergency response roles, ensuring readiness and adherence to safety protocols during incidents.
• Drive and contribute to the FM subdivision’s training programs, including little-t training initiatives, to enhance team capabilities and safety awareness.
• Ensure proper documentation, inspection, and quality control of electrical work activities.
• Manage resources, materials, and equipment to support electrical projects and maintenance activities.
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and laboratory policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing electrical maintenance processes and safety procedures.
