About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Data Entry/Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team at our Dubuque location. This is a full-time position designed for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in a healthcare administrative environment. While prior experience is beneficial, we are willing to provide comprehensive training to the right candidate who demonstrates a strong customer focus, a proactive attitude, and a willingness to learn. The role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a supportive organization that values work-life balance and professional development. This position involves entering and managing medical data accurately, supporting administrative functions, and ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare services. During the initial training period, candidates will be required to work in the office full-time. Upon successful completion of training, a hybrid work schedule will be available, allowing for two days of remote work per week, promoting flexibility and work-life balance. The role is ideal for individuals seeking a stable, rewarding career in healthcare administration with a reputable company that values its employees. Employees will have the chance to earn quarterly bonuses, enjoy competitive compensation, and access a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and other insurance options. The company prides itself on fostering a positive work environment with no weekend or night shifts, paid holidays, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED. While medical terminology training is preferred, it is not mandatory, as training will be provided. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in keyboarding with a minimum of 40 WPM, are essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment, paying close attention to detail and multitasking efficiently. Previous data entry experience is preferred, but not required, provided the candidate can meet the required typing speed and accuracy standards. Additional qualifications include excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a customer-focused attitude. Candidates should be adaptable, dependable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The role requires a proactive approach to handling administrative tasks and an eagerness to learn new skills related to healthcare data management.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include accurately entering medical data into electronic systems, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information, and ensuring data integrity. The role also involves supporting administrative functions such as scheduling, document management, and correspondence with healthcare providers and patients. Candidates will assist in verifying and updating patient records, processing claims, and supporting billing and coding activities as needed. Maintaining organized files and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations are critical aspects of the job. The assistant will also collaborate with team members to improve workflow processes and contribute to a positive work environment. During the training phase, employees will learn specific healthcare software systems, data entry protocols, and customer service standards essential for success in this role. Post-training, the role may expand to include additional administrative duties, participation in quality assurance activities, and ongoing support for healthcare program initiatives. The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying areas for process improvement and committed to delivering high-quality service to clients and patients.
