About The Role
We are seeking a dependable and proactive IT Technician to join our team in Houston. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with their hands, solving technical problems, and thrive in dynamic environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-the-ground support across our Houston office, shop locations, and various job sites. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in IT support while engaging in diverse tasks that extend beyond traditional desk work. You will be instrumental in ensuring our IT infrastructure runs smoothly, assisting with hardware setup, troubleshooting issues, and supporting our field operations.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of IT concepts, including Windows operating systems, hardware, and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Dependability and a strong work ethic with the ability to complete assigned tasks effectively.
- Comfortable working in industrial and shop environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.
- Capable of following instructions carefully and managing support tickets efficiently.
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills and technologies.
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment as required.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally within the Houston area.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Respond promptly to IT support tickets, assisting users with technical problems and inquiries.
- Travel between office, shop, and job site locations to provide on-site support and maintenance.
- Set up new computers, devices, and network equipment to ensure seamless integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues to maintain optimal system performance.
- Support shop environments by maintaining workstations, tool controllers, and shop systems.
- Serve as "remote hands" for senior IT staff or external vendors, assisting with technical tasks as needed.
- Assist with onboarding new employees by setting up equipment, accounts, and access permissions.
- Keep track of IT inventory, ensuring all equipment is properly documented and maintained.
- Visit job sites across Houston to provide necessary IT support and ensure operational efficiency.
