The Role
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. We are innovating how entertainment is imagined, created, and delivered to a global audience, currently streaming in over 30 languages across 190 countries, reaching approximately 300 million paid members.
We recently launched a new ad-supported tier to attract new members at a lower price, while also creating a compelling path for advertisers to reach audiences. To enhance this experience, we're seeking a highly ambitious and visionary Senior Content Designer. You will enable our ads experience and integrations with ads partners, collaborating closely with product designers to deliver delightful, engaging, and highly relevant ad experiences. You'll also be a strategic partner with product, engineering, business, and sales teams to develop visibility into ads performance and member delight.
This is a hybrid role with a flexible work-from-home schedule. Onsite attendance will be required as business needs dictate. This position is best suited for candidates in California or the Pacific time zone, as monthly in-person travel will be required to collaborate with stakeholders and partners in Los Angeles, CA and Los Gatos, CA.
About Ads Platform XD
Ads Platform XD is responsible for designing the foundational capabilities and technology for Netflix's ads experiences and partnerships. Our team excels at creative and collaborative design within highly technical and complex environments. You will be a critical part of one of the most talented and trailblazing ads design teams globally.
About You
As an ads platform content designer, you will help set and elevate the Content Design vision and strategy, create foundational features for our enterprise tools, codify terminology, define copy style and patterns, and craft useful UI copy. In addition:
- You are familiar with advertising technology best practices or similar enterprise technology.
- You are comfortable with technical nomenclature, operations, and product development processes.
- You are a systems thinker, familiar with developing information architecture, language frameworks, and design systems.
- You are a team-first contributor, willing to take on both big strategic projects and smaller, executional tasks.
- You are comfortable working with technical partners to ingest and synthesize highly complex information, translating technical jargon into user-friendly, consistent, and legible content for B2B audiences.
- You are a product thinker, comfortable with innovation and creative problem-solving.
- You can drive alignment and prioritization, partnering with cross-functional peers across design, engineering, and product to define a strong UX for a specific audience.
- You communicate productively with visual thinkers and can advocate for your point of view in a candid, feedback-driven culture.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, taxonomy, and information architecture. Past experience in ads is highly valuable.
- Demonstrated experience synthesizing business requirements and user needs into UI content for enterprise audiences.
- Mastery of AP style and the confidence to know when to break the rules.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and traverse altitudes, from strategic visioning to tactical execution.
- Highly collaborative, organized, and self-directed; able to effectively prioritize and respond to shifting team needs.
