The Team: Media Science Data Science & Engineering

The Media Science Data Science & Engineering team is pivotal in delivering metrics and data science solutions that scale and innovate content media production and management workflows. This role drives time and cost efficiencies, empowering creative teams to bring their stories to life on screen.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a stunning Senior Analytics Engineer to partner with product managers, business teams, and other Data Science & Engineering colleagues. You will design metrics, develop analytic tools, and perform analyses that power content media operations at scale. Your analytical insights will help steer global media production strategy, identify innovations for scale economies and creative storytelling, and support the delivery of new content types on Netflix.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a strategic partner for Content & Business Product PMs and Content Operations teams, developing and executing new measurement frameworks, and identifying analytic opportunities to assess the effectiveness and business impact of product solutions supporting media production workflows.
• Drive the direction of your work, developing solutions that span from scrappy code and prototype tools to high-visibility dashboards and analyses for Business and Product leadership.
• Establish and maintain strong partnerships with a variety of business, product, and data-oriented stakeholders, working directly with them to introduce and influence data-informed ways of working.
• Present your analytical methodology and findings effectively to both technical and non-technical partners.
• Collaborate with other Analytics Engineers & Data Engineers to source data from new systems, strengthen our foundational data models, and accelerate data analysis.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• 8+ years of demonstrated experience with data wrangling, data analysis, metric visualization, and data storytelling to both technical and non-technical product and business stakeholders.
• An expert in the standard tech stack, including SQL and Python, and intuitive dashboard/visualization design using common data visualization tools like Tableau, Plotly, or Streamlit.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills coupled with strong business acumen.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and a fast-paced environment; able to take ownership and thrive with minimal oversight and process.
• Ability to connect the dots across stakeholder needs and independently drive projects forward.
• A self-starter with a learning mindset who is exceptionally curious – eagerly diving into new spaces and bringing informed ideas to the table.
• Proven track record of developing and deepening strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including executive leadership, and influencing strategic decisions through data.
• Comfortable taking smart risks and thrilled about innovating in the Content Production domain.
• An understanding of Netflix culture is essential.
• Experience designing observational causal inference studies and A/B tests, driving strategic decision-making through its findings is a plus.
