The Team
The Security Protocols Engineering (SPE) team develops and supports the communication protocols that enable secure interactions between Netflix clients and its backend infrastructure. They also provide security assessments including identification, authentication, and authorization properties.
The Role
This role is for a thoughtful and collaborative senior security engineer. You will develop security architectures and guide product teams in implementing security best practices. Your focus will be on enhancing user identity, authentication, and authorization capabilities, as well as providing incident response support by triaging and routing requests. You will work closely with peers in SPE and influence product and partner organizations across Netflix.
Desired Background
- Expertise in developing security architectures for large-scale distributed systems.
- Proficiency in identity and access management along with network protocols.
- Experience with secure development lifecycle practices, threat modeling, risk assessments, and security testing.
- Strong knowledge of OAuth, OpenID Connect, SSO, and MFA frameworks.
- Ability to assess security architecture and identify vulnerabilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with risk based analysis and prioritization.
- Prior experience in content delivery, live streaming, or online gaming is a plus.
