Job Description

About Netflix

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. We are writing the next episode by pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom, and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when creativity, intuition, and cutting-edge technology merge. Come be a part of what’s next.

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films, and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause, and resume watching or playing as much as they want, anytime, anywhere — and can change their plans at any time.

Netflix is looking for a versatile, strategic, and industrious Games Product Manager, Mainstream to join our Mainstream Games team, supporting a diverse slate of mobile and cloud titles. Our goal is to entertain the world, and your job will be to help deliver on a suite of games to do just that. As a part of Netflix, we strive to hire the best and value integrity, excellence, respect, inclusion, and collaboration.

The Role: Games Product Manager, Mainstream

As a Games Product Manager, Mainstream, you will play a critical role in shaping and operating the lifecycle of a sub-section of our portfolio of games — working closely with game and production teams, data scientists, creative leads, and cross-functional partners to drive engagement, retention, and long-term value. You will create experiences that feel accessible, exciting, and worth coming back to by defining the right feature sets, systems, and live service rhythms to meet both the functional and emotional needs of mainstream players.

The preferred location for this role is Los Angeles, though remote work will be considered, with a preference for candidates in the PST time zone who are able to travel. Travel is required for quarterly in-person onsites held at our Los Angeles or Los Gatos offices.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with game development teams to ensure execution of the performance strategy for a portion of our mainstream portfolio, driving towards improvements in acquisition, retention, engagement, and repeat play.
  • Collaborate with game developers to design and optimize player onboarding, seasonal updates, and content refreshes that are scalable and repeatable.
  • Leverage player behavior, telemetry, and observational research to improve game performance, while considering how different genre audiences engage with your titles.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to our games.
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including production, design, marketing, product, finance, data science, and engineering.
  • Guide game teams through the transition from launch to live service, ensuring a seamless post-launch plan with clear rhythms.
  • Champion experimentation, learning, and iteration — from UI tweaks to new gameplay modules — always with our core player and their joy at the center.
  • Help ensure our games are must-play titles for a diverse global audience.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management for games or a highly related role.
  • Experience in live service games with massive communities is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of live game systems, including content updates, events, progression, and repeat play hooks.
  • Strong data fluency with a track record of using insights to drive product decisions.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, balancing a long-term roadmap with day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills; comfortable influencing across teams and disciplines.
  • Adaptability and comfort navigating ambiguity in a rapidly evolving organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000.00 - $300,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off.
