Role Overview

The Games Developer Tools team builds platforms and tools that empower game developers in building, debugging, and shipping great games for Netflix members. As a Full Stack Software Engineer 5 - Game Developer Tools, you will focus on developer‑facing tools and workflows essential to game development. Your responsibilities range from designing intuitive UIs and flows to building robust APIs and services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end features, from data models and API design to UI.
• Develop and refine developer-centric tools like portals, dashboards, and debugging consoles.
• Work with modern frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript.
• Utilize backend technologies including Node.js, Java, or Python and API frameworks like GraphQL.
• Ensure robust operations, including monitoring, production debugging, and maintaining backwards compatibility.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full stack development experience on production systems.
• Modern frontend experience with React and TypeScript.
• Backend expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js), Java, or Python.
• Experience in API design, integration, and end-to-end feature ownership.
• Familiarity with developer tooling and game development workflows.

Nice to Have

• Experience with performance tooling, metrics, logs, and complex data visualization.
• Knowledge of game engines like Unity or Unreal.
• Desktop app development experience with Electron or similar frameworks.
• Understanding multi-tenant systems and external-facing tools.
• A passion or background in gaming.
