Data Scientist Content EMEA

About the Role
The Content Data Science and Engineering (DSE) team is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our EMEA operations. You will be instrumental in providing critical insights to our Content decision-makers. This role involves deep-dive analysis, collaboration with local analytics, Consumer Insights, and Finance & Strategy teams. You will have the opportunity to own projects, support impactful decisions, and contribute to both existing and novel content initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic thought partner to business stakeholders, identifying high-impact analytical problems and innovative data-driven solutions.
- Develop statistical models to explain viewership, content engagement, and other key user behaviors.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations for stakeholder self-service of metrics and trends.
- Educate and socialize findings, aiding stakeholders in interpreting analytical results.
- Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for business or content improvement, communicating them clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proactively identify and share regional insights, exploring their potential generalization to other markets.
Qualifications
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for influencing stakeholders with clear insights.
- Proven ability in thought partnership to build credibility and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Strong statistical knowledge, including predictive modeling, incrementality vs. correlation analysis, and confounder identification.
- Solid understanding of experimentation and/or causal inference, including power calculations and result interpretation.
- Proficient SQL skills and experience with distributed analytic processing technologies (e.g., S3, Presto, Hive, Spark).
- Strong proficiency in Python or R.
- Highly effective in engaging with diverse stakeholders and adept at cultivating strong partnerships.
- Passion for communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with a high level of autonomy and enthusiasm for Netflix culture.
