About Nesto And Nesto Cloud
nesto is Canada’s leading provider of mortgage technology and financing solutions, managing $73B+ CAD in residential and commercial mortgages, with 1,000+ team members across 12 offices nationwide. You will be working on Nesto Cloud, Canada’s most advanced cloud platform, delivering end-to-end technology solutions for lenders in the digital age.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and develop the scalable and innovative back-end of the nesto platform, contributing to a seamless and digital mortgage experience.
- Collaborate closely with front-end developers and the data team to build and optimize robust, high-performance data services.
- Write clean and maintainable code with a strong emphasis on solid coding principles (e.g., modularity, testability, microservices architecture).
- Apply strong technical skills in design, coding, testing, and debugging to create top-quality software.
- Troubleshoot complex issues: Investigate and resolve difficult-to-reproduce bugs, narrow down failure conditions, and perform thorough testing of new functionalities.
- Drive technical improvement: Continuously learn about the system and cutting-edge technologies, leveraging newfound knowledge to drive improvements in architecture and development processes.
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience in a Back-End focused role.
- Proven professional experience with one or more of the following key technologies: Go, Python, Node.js, or C#.
- Passionate about creating highly effective applications that users will love and use.
- Eager to learn and share knowledge within the team and across the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaborative spirit, enjoying teamwork with diverse backgrounds.
- Detail-oriented with a proven ability to apply deliberate, long-term system thinking to technical design and implementation.
Preferred But Not a Must
- Experience in the financial services or mortgage industry (Fintech).
You shouldn't apply if
- You are not motivated by the challenge of building a scalable cloud-native tech platform in a high-growth scale-up environment, preferring highly stable, low-pressure roles.
- You are unwilling to invest time in writing clean, modular, and maintainable code, prioritizing speed over technical debt management.
- You prefer to avoid the collaborative aspect of integrating with Front-End developers and Data teams, or you are uncomfortable troubleshooting difficult, low-level system bugs.
The Reward
- The A-Team: Work alongside high-performing talent in the industry.
- Accelerated Growth: The slope of your learning curve here will be vertical. You will touch more production systems in one year than you would in five years at a bank.
- Top-Tier Coverage: Premium benefits plan fully paid by nesto, including comprehensive insurance and unlimited access to telemedicine and mental health services for you and your family.
- Rest & Recharge: 4 weeks of vacation to ensure you stay at peak performance.
- Best-in-Class Tools: Access to the resources and tech you need to execute without friction.
- Working framework: The environment that makes you productive and enables teamwork (Hybrid model).
