Job Description
Mission
At Neko Health, our mission is to deliver proactive healthcare for all—empowering members to take control of their health through cutting-edge technology and compassionate care.
Role Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Senior Data Analyst to establish analytics capabilities and frameworks across the organization. You will build data models using our modern stack (dbt, Azure Databricks, Power BI), working across Finance, Medical Excellence, and Product—plus six other business areas—to enable data-driven decision-making company-wide. This role involves creating our single source of truth, implementing self-service analytics, and establishing data quality standards and governance frameworks. You will collaborate closely with diverse stakeholders—from medical doctors to operations teams and backend engineers—translating complex health data into actionable insights that drive clinical decisions and operational excellence. Our data team of analysts, scientists, and engineers operates in a remote-first culture with our Stockholm office as a collaborative hub.
What You’ll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months
- Define and standardise core business metrics and KPIs across the organisation, eliminating duplicate definitions and creating a single source of truth that empowers every team to make confident, data-driven decisions (Member-first, always).
- Build and maintain centralised, governed BI dashboards and reports using our modern stack (dbt, Azure Databricks, Power BI), delivering clear and decision-ready insights across Finance, Medical Excellence, Product, and beyond (Tech-enabled, human-centred).
- Partner with data engineering to implement data quality standards, ownership frameworks, and lineage tracking in Unity Catalog — establishing governance that scales with the business (Hard truths, high hopes).
- Develop scalable, reusable data models in SQL, Python, and dbt in close collaboration with business stakeholders, translating ambiguous problems into well-defined analytical solutions (Chase 10X, not 10%).
- Champion data literacy initiatives across the organisation, enabling teams to become more self-sufficient in their analytics and driving a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
- Develop and document data contracts and self-service analytics capabilities, ensuring quality is maintained as access and usage scales company-wide.
Minimum Qualifications
- An academic background in Data Science/Statistics/Analytics or related quantitative field, with 5+ years of experience as a data analyst.
- Expert-level SQL skills and strong proficiency with dbt (data build tool) for building and maintaining data models.
- Experience applying version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for analytics workflows.
- Strong Python skills for data analysis and demonstrated ability to establish analytics standards and frameworks in growing organizations.
- Experience with business intelligence tools and Azure Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to translate ambiguous business problems into well-defined analytical solutions.
Preferred
- Prior experience working with healthcare data, medical device data, or similarly complex, regulated datasets.
- Further study to MSc level in Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience with experimentation methodologies and implementing data governance frameworks (ownership, lineage, data contracts).
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools (Fivetran, dlt) and Unity Catalog or similar data governance platforms.
About The Engineering Team
Distributed and Remote First
We are nearly 100 full time engineers at the company, working from Berlin, Chamonix, Hamburg, Lisbon, Marseille, Vilnius, and Stockholm, spanning diverse disciplines such as Hardware Engineering, Firmware Development, Electrical Design, Algorithm Development, Machine Learning Development, Optronics Research, Frontend Development and more. We don't expect people to join us with a specific tech knowledge, but we do expect you to work with our tools. We use a mix of React, Typescript, C++, and Python. Our APIs are written in C# with ASP.NET Core, uses Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure Active Directory for authentication. Our headquarters and our hardware development team are in Stockholm, Sweden.
We are a Remote First company; however, it is of course much easier to work remotely as a software engineer than a hardware or firmware engineer (since they require access to hardware or devices occasionally). Software engineers based in Stockholm work maybe one day a week or one day every two weeks from the office. We meet a couple of times per year to get to know each other and have fun.
Organization and Way of Working
The engineering team is divided into smaller cross functional project teams that each focus on a specific goal or target, where some groups are long-lived, and some are short-lived, depending on how big the goal or deliverable is. We strive to create groups which are cross-functional and able to complete their goals without dependence on other teams, even though this is of course not always possible.Groups track goals on a yearly and quarterly basis with goal follow-up across the entire engineering organization on a bi-weekly basis. Most groups do internal planning on a bi-weekly basis, but in the end it's up to the group to decide how they want to work.We have, however, mandated that all groups must present their progress or failures or hacks at our bi-weekly engineering demo, a fun meeting/presentation where we talk about everything from short-circuiting power-modules, how hard it is to calibrate cameras or align polygons in space, to neat new command line tools for operations, a new auth mechanism in the backend, a cool new way to visualize health data or a new feature which helps our doctors be more productive. We have a flexible workplace that focuses on work/life balance, and we strongly believe in our mission but do not think that achieving it requires sacrificing everything else.
Hiring Process
Candidates progress from application and structured screening through thoughtfully designed interviews culminating in a formal offer and final pre-employment checks before joining the team.
Equal Opportunity & Inclusion Statement
Neko Health is committed to inclusive hiring and member-first care. We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and encourage you to request reasonable adjustments to support your application.
