Junior Security Compliance Analyst

Role Overview
The Junior Security Compliance Analyst (Access Controls) provides support for security compliance and audit activities related to user access management, privileged access, and segregation of duties (SoD) across various enterprise systems. This entry-level position primarily focuses on SOX access control reviews, evidence collection, and documentation, working under the guidance of senior team members. It offers an excellent opportunity for candidates with foundational IT or security knowledge to build a career in security, audit, or governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support periodic user access reviews across systems, including Entra ID, business applications, privileged accounts, and external users.
- Prepare and maintain access review files, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely tracking of system owner approvals.
- Assist with Segregation of Duties (SoD) reporting, including identifying conflicts, tracking remediation actions, and maintaining documentation.
- Collect, organize, and validate audit evidence, such as user and admin access listings, privileged account inventories, administrative activity and access logs, and external user access records.
- Support SOX audit activities by preparing required documentation and evidence packages, maintaining audit trackers and control documentation, and responding to basic auditor questions under supervision.
- Follow documented procedures and control requirements to ensure consistency and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with IT, application owners, and security teams to resolve access-related questions and findings.
Key Qualifications & Experience
Must-have requirements
- General understanding of IT systems, including users, roles, permissions, and access approvals.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with structured data.
- Organized and methodical approach to work, with the ability to follow documented procedures precisely.
- Basic experience using Excel or similar tools for data handling and tracking.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the security and compliance domain.
Preferred qualifications
- Basic familiarity with Windows / Active Directory or cloud identity platforms (e.g., Entra ID).
- Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar.
- Academic background or coursework in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Information Systems.
- Prior exposure to compliance, audit, SOX controls, or information security.
- Understanding of access control concepts such as least privilege, user types and role-based access, access approval workflows, and privileged and external user access.
