Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Security Engineer Intern to join our Cybersecurity & Secure Systems Development team. This internship is designed for students who want to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity, secure software development, Linux systems, cryptography, and next-generation security technologies. You will contribute to technical research, prototype development, security testing, and the design of secure systems aimed at protecting digital infrastructure against emerging threats such as Harvest Now, Decrypt Later attacks and the future impact of quantum computers on today’s encryption systems. Applications can be accepted throughout the year from students registered on the ATLAS internship program.

What you will work on

As a Security Engineer Intern, you may be involved in:
  • Designing and developing secure systems and network architectures.
  • Researching and implementing Post-Quantum Cryptography technologies.
  • Building secure communication prototypes and cryptographic infrastructure.
  • Working with Linux-based environments, networking tools, and secure system configurations.
  • Assisting in the analysis and testing of cryptographic protocols and security mechanisms.
  • Identifying emerging cybersecurity risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting R&D activities related to secure systems, privacy, and quantum-resilient cybersecurity.
  • Preparing technical documentation, reports and presentations.

Your Skills

  • Knowledge and skills in Application Security and Security Engineering
  • Proficiency in Network Security and Cybersecurity concepts
  • Understanding of Information Security principles and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field

Bonus Skills

  • Basic understanding of cryptographic algorithms or encryption schemes.
  • Experience with Linux networking or secure systems development.
  • Interest in Post-Quantum Cryptography and future internet security.
  • Experience with tools such as Wireshark, OpenSSL, Docker, Git or security testing environments.
  • Interest in research, technical writing, or cybersecurity innovation.
