Financial Service Officer at Navigator Credit Union

Navigator Credit Union is recruiting a part time Financial Service Officer for branches in the MS region, including Gulfport, D'iberville, Ocean Springs, Gautier, Jackson Ave, Hurley, Vancleave, and Moss Point. Although a home branch will be assigned, you may be asked to cover at other branches as needed.

Role

Serves as a Financial Advisor responsible for providing financial solutions. This involves opening new accounts, referring applications, answering member questions, problem solving and owning the member experience. You will engage with members to discuss products and services that can improve their financial wellbeing.

Description of Duties

  • Build relationships with members via multiple channels.
  • Conduct meetings for various banking needs, from transactions to complex finances.
  • Represent Navigator Credit Union in the community.
  • Educate members on money management, budgeting, credit building, and financial goal setting.
  • Perform consultative selling of products and services.
  • Handle administrative tasks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Support special projects and perform multiple roles within the branch.
  • Exhibit a positive and self-starting approach with high integrity and accountability.
  • Adhere to applicable laws such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.

Experience & Education

2+ years’ direct customer service experience is required with a preferred background in sales. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Specific Skills

  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Completion of a financial counselor certification within 6 months.
  • Strong problem solving and ownership of the member experience.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Skill in public speaking and leading by example.
  • Proven sales and cross-selling capability.
