Overview

Navigator Credit Union is recruiting for a full time Financial Service Officer in the MS region. Branch locations include Gulfport, D'iberville, Ocean Springs, Gautier, Jackson Ave, Hurley, Vancleave, and Moss Point. A home branch will be assigned; however, branch employees may be asked to cover other branches as needed.

Role

The Financial Service Officer serves as a Financial Advisor responsible for providing financial solutions by opening new accounts, referring applications, answering member questions, problem solving, and owning the member experience. The role requires consultative conversations about banking needs and financial products/services, including mobile banking and technical services.

Description of Duties

  • Engage members through face-to-face, phone, online, and electronic channels.
  • Meet members for both basic and complex banking needs.
  • Build community relationships and positively represent Navigator Credit Union.
  • Advise on money management, credit building, budgeting, and financial goal setting.
  • Cross-sell credit union products, support special projects, and perform administrative duties.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and internal regulations.

Experience & Education

Requires 2+ years direct customer service experience (sales experience preferred) and a High School diploma or equivalent.

Specific Skills

  • Above average verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to complete a financial counselor certification within six months.
  • Strong problem solving, self-motivation, trustworthiness, and work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently, lead by example, and perform in fast paced environments.
  • Proven cross-selling abilities to meet branch and individual goals.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

The role involves primarily sedentary work, occasional lifting up to 10 lbs, extended computer use, and indoor work in a climate-controlled environment. Must be able to travel locally and work extended hours when required.
