About the Role

The Associate or Senior Editor Social Sciences, Nature Portfolio will join the Research Cross-Journal Editorial Team, working closely and flexibly with existing Nature Research Journals. This role requires a critical thinker with deep subject matter expertise, curiosity to explore beyond one's specialty, and the ability to adapt quickly.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support editorial processes, including manuscript assessment and peer-review.
  • Commission, edit, and write content for journals.
  • Collaborate with Chief Editors and journal teams.
  • Report to the Head of the Research Cross-Journal Team on content and strategy.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • PhD level research experience in environmental or sustainability-focused social sciences.
  • Strong interest in research beyond a single specialty.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time management and work prioritization in a dynamic environment.
  • Postdoctoral and editorial experience preferred.
  • Expertise in related disciplines is a plus.
