About NATO STO/CSO
The NATO Science & Technology Organization (STO) is a subsidiary body of NATO dedicated to advancing S&T investments for defence and security. The STO Collaboration Support Office (CSO) provides essential executive and administrative support to the STO's scientific and technical activities, facilitating a global network of over 5,000 scientists and engineers working on defence and security challenges.
Role Context and Responsibilities
The intern will join the Personnel, Administration and Logistics (PAL) Branch, supporting its functions in general services, logistics, postal services, infrastructure, and building maintenance. This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and efficient collaborative environment for S&T activities.
Key Functions Include:
- Supporting the PAL Branch in daily operations related to general services, logistics, and facility management.
- Conducting inventory of goods, equipment, and furniture, and maintaining an updated database.
- Monitoring stock levels to anticipate ordering needs and managing the delivery of goods.
- Assisting with the allocation of goods for internal meetings and tracking staff requests for services.
- Supporting the monitoring of infrastructure, maintenance requirements, and minor works.
- Participating in process improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement, and proposing corrective actions.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Technical degree in logistics, facility management, infrastructure, or building maintenance, or equivalent demonstrated training.
- Experience: Ideally, some experience in logistics, facility management, infrastructure, or building maintenance.
- Skills: Proficiency in common office software (Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Language: Proficient knowledge of one official NATO language (English is the primary working language) and fair knowledge of the other.
- Citizenship: Must be a national of a NATO member country.
- Security Clearance: Must be eligible for a NATO Secret security clearance.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a multinational environment.
- Training in office software suites.

- Very good knowledge of both official NATO languages.
