The Consultant Field Underwriter Small Commercial New England at Nationwide is responsible for profitable new business growth in the small commercial sector. Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Underwriting Execution: Underwrite and price complex commercial risks autonomously.
- Risk Analysis & Technical Consultation: Perform in-depth risk assessments using financials, loss control reports, and industry trends.
- Territory Management: Manage a field territory ensuring alignment with underwriting strategies and profitability goals.
- Agency Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and support negotiations.
- Market Intelligence & Innovation: Monitor market trends and contribute to evolving underwriting guidelines.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a resource and mentor for field underwriters.
- Program & Product Expertise: Conduct training sessions and provide feedback on product performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced insurance designations (CPCU, ARM) strongly preferred. Minimum 6-8 years of commercial underwriting experience and expert-level knowledge in risk management and underwriting principles are essential.
