Position Overview

The Full-time Faculty and Academic Program Director, PhD in Cybersecurity at National University is responsible for teaching online doctoral-level courses and directing program strategy, operations, and support. The role entails a balance of teaching, scholarship, and service while developing an industry-relevant cybersecurity curriculum.

Teaching Responsibilities

Instructor will teach and develop online doctoral-level courses in cybersecurity, ensure a positive learning environment for diverse adult learners, and align courses with accreditation standards.

Scholarship

Maintain a productive scholarly agenda with ongoing professional development and engagement in academic research.

Service and Leadership

Direct daily operations of the PhD program while acting as the primary spokesperson, overseeing curriculum oversight, shared governance, and community outreach initiatives. Collaborate with faculty and school leadership to integrate trends and ensure compliance with accreditation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in Cybersecurity or related field
  • Industry certifications (CISSP, SANS GIAC, CEH, CISM, CISA)
  • Minimum 2+ years industry experience in cybersecurity
  • Leadership or program management experience preferred
  • Involvement in cybersecurity community and NSA Centers of Academic Excellence is a plus
